Nox - Dining in the Dark :)

It was @ Keppel Bay, I asked if Yoki was interested to go to Nox and she was (!!) so I made a reservation on the spot :) Here we are finally after a month's wait to celebrate her BD.

If you have no Nyctophobia and ok to dine in the dark, this is my verdict.

We were given a locker each to keep our bags and stuff in case of theft in the dark. Also HPs are not allowed in the dining area, photo-taking, flashes are also prohibited to ascertain diners' dine-in-the-dark experience. Ok reasons acceptable. Very fine with no hps in fact :)
Our welcome dish.
We were then ushered upstairs to our table.
It was pitch dark along the stairways.
I was fearful for a good 3 seconds.
Afterwhich, I was adapting well to the pitch dark environment.
We had to hold each other on the shoulder in a trail to be led to our seats.
The usherer cum server was really friendly, gave us clear directions to our seats and did a good job orientating us to the "unseen" surroundings. He is visually impaired btw… So me and Yoki practically touched every corners of our table and seats just to have a feel of what was around us. lol. The fun thing was when we went yaking and laughing at the silly talks we have among ourselves like kids. So funny :P

Dinner was a 3-course prix fixe dinner of Appetiser, Main and Dessert.
Each course consists of 4 small dishes.
The server told us it would be great if we could eat in a clockwise direction starting from our 6 o'clock, 9, 12 and lastly 3. It's true when one lose their sense of sight, one would need some imagination and thus, more focused on their food by sense of smell, taste and touch to know what they are eating, what ingredients was used, etc. Yummy food really. I enjoyed every single dish cos' they tasted so good. By the time I was done with the 4th appetizer I was full already.
We tried to discuss what we had, drew our conclusions and laughed at almost all silly comments and stuff we did. We were wondering if there's someone watching us with a UV sensor and which direction the kitchen was, where the servers go, secret chambers, etc. I dropped my cold pasta and some beef cubes out of the plate and I used my hands to pick it up to eat since it's so dark haha…
The server came back and told us, our table is so cheerful. hahaha.

Amongst the good stuff we've had:
Foie Gras (v big slab)
Parma Ham
Scallop (big)
Beef *Tripe (stomach)
Cod fish
Prawns
Fish/Prawn roe
Caviar (garnish only lol)
Beef
German Sausage
Sorbet
Apple strudel

*This was the 1st time I had Tripe. I couldn't make out what it was… it felt like shreds of thinly sliced enoki mushroom. It was really good!!!!!

Our dinner lasted almost 2.5hrs…

We were then ushered back to the lounge and into the LIGHT :)
The staff is so nice to have remembered to give a lil surprise for the BD girl.

BD and Advanced Xmas
Happy @ Nox :)
NOX is great for the experience for at least once in your life.
Do come with someone who's of good chemistry with you too.
Imagine eating in the dark, feeling awkward with the conversation can be damn SUCKY but wait, maybe on the other hand, can be quite an ice breaker hor? HMMM. Don't try don't know la...
I'm glad I came.
If I'm here for the 2nd time, I'd wish I could see the food since I've already been through the dark though.
