Chatterbox Chicken Rice @ Meritius Mandarin (Orchard)

Finally, after procrastinating for the last 3 years (hee... nah... didn't have the chance really.. cos' i usually like Jap / Fish / Soupy stuff when we dine out), we made our way to the highly acclaimed Chicken Rice of Singapore!

I've had this on two occassions before about 6 years back with my ex-bf Ivan then. hee... Now am having it with B. Yiipss...

Presentation:

Changed. More white colour chinaware instead of the previous black ones. Sauce bowls are bigger. Looks like another cafe's presentation. (3/5)

Rice:

A bit hard & grainy. Not as fragrant as before. Disappointing. (3/5)

Chicken:

The wait staff will ask if you will like breast/thigh meat. We both chose the thigh meat. Meat was succulent & flavourful with the soya sauce. Big serving of meat with a bed of lettuce & thinly sliced cucumbers on the sides. (4/5)
Soup:

Awesome! I almost wanted to request for another bowl. (4/5)

Sauce:

The dark sauce is superb, thick & has a tinge of x.o (I maybe imaging things.. haaa). Garlic sauce is a bit spicy but not overpowering the meat when eaten together. The chilli sauce is good for me as the garlic smell is not too strong. With the bigger sauce bowls, they serve more sauce. (4/5)

Overall:

Yummie!!! but not for the Budget-goers... cos' those hawker stalls from the Best Food Recommendations may taste as nice. :X

Yummie drink but a total RIP-OFF in price!
